Amelia Stubbs, aka. Curvy Amelia, is an independent Australian plus-size model, blogger and social media influencer striving to promote positive body image and raise awareness of body diversity in the Australian fashion and advertising industry.
As a child, Amelia was always taller and bigger than her peers and due to these physical differences, her confidence lacked severely. At age 10, Amelia's parents enrolled her in classical singing lessons to help build her self-esteem and refocus her attention to her talents: singing and performing. This led to a scholarship to study classical voice and performance at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School in Melbourne and ignited a lifelong passion for singing which has seen her compete successfully and perform at significant public events such as the Australian ARIA Awards.
In 2011, Amelia had professional photos taken for a singing promotion
and began viewing herself in a new and positive light. After researching plus-size modelling and some advice from a trusted mentor, a new interest took hold and Amelia signed with her first agency, BGM Models. In 2015 she moved to Sydney and became one of Vivien's Models first signed plus-size models in 50 years and featured in Target's national campaign, 'Yay For Every Body'. She now resides in Melbourne and works both independently and with Brazen Models.

Amelia has undertaken an intensive, one-on-one ‘red carpet and media training course’ with former director of news for Channel 7 Melbourne, Steve Carey. Amelia is a mentor to a number of young women in the modelling industry and also speaks to year 11 and 12 VCAL students about body acceptance and ‘dressing for success’ in the workplace. She regularly engages in volunteer work or fundraising efforts for charities such as Angel Flight Australia, Fitted for Work Melbourne and is an official ambassador for TLC for Kids.

Amelia plans to continue working closely with brands who wish to promote body diversity and has made it her personal mission to encourage others to gain a balanced perspective on their bodies so they can live a full and happy life. She has worked with over 300 brands within Australia such as Levis, Voodoo Hosiery, Swimwear Galore, Harris Scarfe, Target, P&O Cruises, Intimo Lingerie, Uber Eats, Mt Buller Resort, Forever New, Big W and many more.
